Great question! We now have four ways to explore sensory play with us:

• Themed Activity Boxes — our original, all-inclusive boxes with 3-5 curated activities, a theme, and everything you need in one place.
• Sensory Play Trays — a themed, mould-based tray that pairs with your own fillers, or with one of our Sensory Bases below.
• Sensory Bases & Refills — our taste-safe putty, fizz, and potion mixes, sold separately so you can restock your favourites or try a new one without needing a full box.
• Sensory Accessories — our 3D-printed tools and toys, like fizz fountains, sifters, and pouring towers, designed to be used again and again across different themes.

You can mix and match across all four — a lot of our explorers build their own custom sensory play collection over time!

Our products are for Little Explorers of all ages! We find that children from 2 to 12 (and beyond!) can enjoy our boxes, trays, bases, and accessories in different ways.

We've deliberately moved away from "age labels" because you know your little explorer best. Everything we make is designed to be open-ended, and our safety policy (see below!) puts you in charge of deciding which components are right for your explorer.

A surprise! Each box is built around a special theme (like our "Great Garden Picnic" or the "Little Explorer's Easter EGGS-pedition"). Inside, you'll find several curated activities and all the sensory materials needed, such as:

• Sensory bases (e.g., playdough, or taste-safe mixes)
• Special liquid magic for water play and fizzing fun
• Fun sensory fillers like coloured pasta shells and textured grains
• Tools for scooping, sifting, sorting, and playing
• A set of instructions to guide you and your explorer through the adventure

The photos on our website are a great example of the fun and value packed into every product. However, a few specific contents, tools, and colours may vary. This is part of the surprise! Rest assured, every box, tray, base, and accessory is thoughtfully curated to fit its theme and provide a high-quality experience.

Your child's safety is our top priority. Adult supervision is always required during playtime with all of our products.

Our boxes and some accessories often contain small treasures that can be a choking hazard. These items are always packed in a separate, sealed, and clearly-labelled bag. This allows you, the supervising adult, to decide if and when these parts are appropriate for your explorer.

"Taste-Safe" is our promise for specific sensory activities! We use non-toxic, pantry ingredients (like flour, oats, coconut and food colouring) in our Sensory Bases and Refills, including the bases included in our boxes. While they're not a snack, you can rest easy if a little taste-testing happens on the adventure! Our Sensory Accessories, Play Trays, and other play items are for play only and are not to be eaten.

We take allergies very seriously. Because our sensory bases are assembled in a shared-use space, we cannot guarantee they are free from specific allergens.

• WHEAT: Our playdough and some sensory bases do contain wheat (flour) and are therefore not gluten-free.
• OTHER ALLERGENS: We do not actively use any dairy, nuts, or eggs in our sensory play items. However, we cannot exclude the possibility of trace allergens due to shared equipment.

Please note that our "taste-safe" items are for stress-free play if a little taste-testing happens—they are not food and are not intended for consumption.

If you have a specific allergy concern, please contact us at letsplay@littleexplorersbox.com before you order. We can let you know the ingredients in your product and, if possible, assist with a replacement.

Currently, all of our products—boxes, trays, bases, refills, and accessories—are sold as one-time purchases. The best way to hear about new launches and limited-edition runs is to join the "Little Explorers Club" (our email newsletter)! We hope to offer a subscription service one day, so if this would interest you please let us know!

We currently ship to explorers all across Australia.

We offer a flat rate of $10 shipping on all orders, anywhere in Australia and FREE for all orders over $99.

Our expedition team works fast! We typically process and pack orders within 1-3 business days. After that, delivery times depend on our shipping partners (like Australia Post) and your location.

Please note: If you are purchasing a PRE-ORDER item, the shipping date will be listed on the product page and your order will be shipped on or before that day.

As your purchase is covered by the Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure. If you believe your order is faulty or has a major issue, please contact us right away. We do not offer refunds or exchanges for a change of mind.
